Decided as you do, that because my wheels needed refurbishing and getting that sorted would take more effort in a shorter space of time that i would just buy some new wheels
settled on some BBS CH replicas from BM autosport

had to remove my 25mm rear spacers which im abit gutted about but ill try get some smaller ones made i think.
still needs lowering too.

just iphone pics for now, will get some proper ones on sunday

couldnt resist

I got some photos of the car before changing the wheels too which some might like?

enjoy

I only want it to the point my old wheels sat, looks really narrow at the back now i think.
i recon a 15mm spacer would sit it close enough and then the natural camber the z4 has will pull the top in enough when lowered. all guessing though nothing actually measured yet

Looks lovely.

Have you considered putting BMW center caps on them, seeing as they're not actually BBS's?

They look a lot better in 18'' form than I thought! I've seen them on another z4 and they looked small, although I think they had se suspension on.
Once lowered, these will look perfect.

The rear camber is rather mental when lowered btw, haven't got mine re-aligned as it drives well and the wheel sits in the arch nicely.

It's mental with just spacers! Might get mine aligned though because I don't want excessive tyre wear on the inside
I didn't want 19s as I think they look too much and the roads round here I'd just buckle them
Also 18 tyres are cheaper

funnily enough, i've just taken the 18's out the garage and gave them a clean up, ready to fit them this evening.

can't take the risk with the rubbing and harsh ride. it's just not my thing. would rather have smaller wheels and be able to drive the car properly.

it's a shame, but needs must.

with regars to excessive tyre wear, how many miles have you done on your fronts? i have one goodyear eagle f1 which has about 5-6mm tread left and it's done 13,000 miles in my ownership + 3,000 before me. that's not bad at all.

rears have also lasted about 15,000 miles (vred's), which are all but illegal.

There's loads of tread left on my front run flats, they were fit at 56k and my cars on 67k now I think. Not sure how long the rears lasted but they were bald on the inside edge
Get your wheels painted! Or buy some 18s

Decided to paint my calipers and discs, the rusty look didn't quite work for me with the new wheels
What you think?
