After missing out on buying another Nova a few years ago due to the sky high prices I've been keeping an eye out for a cheap GSi as a project car.

Found this on ebay, seems a fairly reasonable base, couple of big jobs to do but long timescales on this one, only really bought it as it was close and cheap! Won't be seeing the road this year.

Only one pic from ebay..

It's filthy at the minute, has been sat in side a unit for long time, drove the 50 miles home though

Hoping to get it all cleaned up tomorrow and will take some pics

One wheel arch has rotted and the roof needs paint but other than that its pretty straight!

Seen the arch on the pics a bit. Sounds good, plans to keep it standard?

Plans are fix the arch, sort the roof and drop it 60mm.

Will probably replace the exhaust with a standard back box as I'm past big booming exhaust notes now

Looking forward to seeing how it looks under the sheet of dirt on it

A few pictures, none are very good as I was a bit limited for photo space and I was in a rush

Started looking like this..

Hit it a few time with this, plus apc and a small brush to get rid of the mold around the rubbers etc..

Looking better now..

Going to hit it with a clay bar the and DA polisher next I think, need to get the tyre off the steel wheel swapped on the fourth alloy and chuck some springs on it, looks shit sitting so high (even my mum agrees :lol

Overall the body work isn't to bad for a 18 year old car, few scabby bits, couple of dings but for £325 it's pretty good!

Interior needs a major clean

Yeah, underside is suprisingly ok, it's apparantley only done 83k Generally I would call bull shit on that but It's only had 3 owners, all for a long time so could be true

I bought my last one in 2003 (shit, 10 years ago ) on 150k

Bit more work tonight, for something that is a long term thing I'm not half cracking on

First job was to give the interior a bit of a once over, was manky as hell and smelt like shit.

A few befores

Afters

Still needs much more work inside but for a first pass it's not to bad.

Then started on the fun stuff, cracked out the DA and gave the passenger side a once over, pretty happy with it so far!

Weather hasn't been great but decided to crack on with the machine polishing.

Today I managed to do:

Bonnet
Drivers side
Finished off kit on passenger side

Pictures are not great (again!) as I couldn't really see anything when I was taking them due to the sun!

It's not half coming up though, difficult colour to capture on the camera, probably doesn't look that different to the before pics but in person it's very shiny

Oh, and the fourth alloy is on now!
