In 98% sure this isn't possible, but thought if ask.

Not expired and have about 6 days tax left, can't te-tax online as not expired few weeks ago, can't MOT as car isn't working at the moment.


Way around it?

Has to have atleast 1months MOT to tax it, you can drive it to the mot station without tax or mot once its running though.

Modify date on MOT and go to the Post Office

The people at the post office only check to see if it's in date, they have no way of checking via a computer system. Just tax it that way then bin the blag MOT.

I don't think that's true as such.

I think it depends when the mot runs out and when the tax is due to start.

Like if the mot runs out on the 28th, you couldn't get tax on the 26th etc.

Its so easy to do when they first came out we sent a heap of fake ones back to vosa as its all black and white scan it in change date then tax it

As far as I'm aware, the MOT 'certificate' you get now means sod all as it's all computerised?

Well if they defiantly don't run through computers it may be worth a go, I won't be driving car, I just need to work on it outside my house, I just want to pay a bill lol..

Is it off the public highway though? If it's on private property you can SORN it and it's ok, it's only if it's on the public highway it needs tax

As said, scan the mot and change the date. The post office only look at it so there's no risk at all and it will work. Although I would just get it mot'd first

It probs will work Post Office end, but DVLA will receive the paperwork and if alarm bells go off there or not, I couldn't tell you.
