Claying is to remove surface contaminants. Shouldn't be any for a while, I would have thought!?

If its been painted and baked properly then you should be able to do It straight away. The days of not polishing fresh paint are gone with mickey mouse spraying bits in his shed and hanging them up to dry.

However as balling pointed out its pretty pointless on fresh paint unless there is overspray you are trying to remove, but if its done well there shouldn't be

No over spray, was going to clay and polish the whole car then seal it in.... Will just clay the roof

How exactly have those days gone?? What's changed nowadays compared to how it used to be done??

When i had a bumper sprayed earlier this year, the painter told me to wait approx 30 days before doing any work, said something about the paint not being fully cured.

When I've had bits painted I've always been told it was fine to clean as normal.

I was told by Greame off here who painted my bonnet and boot not to wash the car for atleast a week and longer for any type of product to go on the paint. Even though the paint is baked its still not fully cured so any small stones in the wash mitt would mark the fresh paint.

Don't wax it or seal it for a while John. I've heard anywhere from 30-90 days for it to degas properly.
Wouldn't bother claying it though buddy

This, its what I was taught when I did my apprentiship, baking only cures the laquer to like 80%, takes another 2-3 weeks to fully harden

Unless you are cleaning your car with sandpaper its fine, what do you think will happen by polishing freshly painted properly baked paint? It will probably already have had a cutting compound applied by the body shop anyway
