Picked the keys up a week last Friday after being in rented accommodation for 6 months.
Nice quiet cul-de-sac, been sleeping like a log compared to renting a cold flat next to a busy road.
Rubbish pictures as been manic for 2 weeks, had a week of and been painting from 8am-11pm everyday non-stop. Also lost a load of pics when I sync’d my iphone
All ceilings done white, all walls had to go white first before the off white/light magnolia colour we'd chosen could go on, all skirting, door frames, window ledges sanded, undercoated and glossed, downstairs carpet out, garden partly gutted etc etc.
Photo from the listing:
Street view:
Walls and carpet were filthy…
Downstairs dining room
Must have filled over 100 holes in the walls
Living room
Overgrown garden
Dirty pitched roof
Back door needed paint
Cheap poorly fitted laminate
Garage, to be painted eventually
Side path to be dug up…
Front tree to be cut back, the neighbours struggle to get under it in their cars
Conifer, half dead to be cut down
Grim downstairs bathroom
Blue bathroom to be painted
Started painting the main bedroom
Garden cut back
Living room wallpaper stripped to find textured paint which has to be sanded back
Stairs and landing painted
Front tree cut back
Testing out for the projector in the living room
Alcove for project cut out the wall and boxed in, started filling
Flooring down in hallway and second living room (just scotia to go round the edges)
Second living room nearly done, surround sound wires under the flooring, new aerial put in for TV.
Living room carpet ripped out, painted (downstairs toilet/sink taken out for flooring in downstairs loo)
Trench dug for waste pipe so we can have the washing machine in the garage
Pipe in…
Water meter in garage moved into the corner (was in the centre)so we can have the washer/dryer/freezer along the back and pipework for washer fitter
Flooring down in living room, new sofas turned up early so kept them covered for now, trial run of the projector to be properly wired in including motorised screen, surround sound wires under floor etc.
No curtains and still quite light outside

Looks nice.
Not afraid the projector will overheat in there?

Thanks Nath.
We got it for the same as what the owners paid for it in 2005, think it was £187k.

Slightly
I'm in two minds about putting a vent on the side of the box but it blows out the front into the living room so should be OK but I'm keeping an eye on it for now.

If it blows out the front it'll probably have an intake somewhere else? Like top, back or sides - which are all covered.
I'm no expert on projectors, but I have the notion that in some cases they can be prone to overheating.

Looks like a nice place.
I personally would've kept the garden how it was, maybe just shaped the foliage a bit. I hate being overlooked.

Agreed, parents went a bit mad and first thing I said to them was, "don't go too mad"
Least the neighbours are nice.

Fuck me, £187k... down here on the South Coast that would get you a tiny grotty house or a nicer 2 bed flat.
The Wife & I had to pay £220k for a 3 bed house and it looks smaller than that!
Good work, looks 100x better already

House is spot on.
If that's your missus then post some topless pictures instead of men.
