So, with games starting this Saturday, it's going to be tight at the top I predict this championship season with QPR and Reading back in the fold.

Any early predictions for the first few weeks?

Here's how the fixtures look for this side of New Year.

Could of at least done a "proper football starts this weekend" thread. Think you're the only championship fan on here now

I get sick of premiership threads though, I find the premiership boring if I'm honest! I've never followed a premiership team apart from when we were up there (Leicester City).

So do a whole lower league thread then, otherwise you're as bad as them.

There is a full league programme this weekend

Crewe v Rotherham
York v someone poor
Luton v someone worse

I'll let someone else do it. Leicester are a Championship side, I'm targeting my interest, biased or otherwise

Saying that...

I got the racing post today with the 72 page pullout. Mark Langdon reckons it'll be Watford's year with Alfie top scorer. But seems a lot of people mentioning Derby or Forest.(sorry no, Leicester)

Personally I don't think Derby have a chance, Forest with Billy Davies I think will do well, and Watford obviously have the Italians in their squad. I don't think QPR will win it, although will be up there, Blackburn will do well, Bolton who knows...as always its a very hard league!

I'm fairly certain we're going to lose away at Middlesbrough this weekend. No real changes to the team closed season, one signing of left back Bakayogo isn't going to improve our play and Richie Wellens leaving on mutual consent. Can't see us improving from last season using last seasons squad.

Pearson blows hot and cold, blinding start to the season came from somewhere, then poor second half of the season. I think maybe the players got tired of his bully like leadership. I think with the teams as they stand, we'll finish around 10th.

They've got 9 people from the bookmakers and they've chosen...

Watford
Reading
Derby
Bolton
Derby/Boro
Blackburn
Watford
QPR
Bolton

As their choices, whether that means much I'm not sure

Also, they've mostly picked Wolves in league one. I really don't think they'll be doing well this year. They've had 2 and a bit season of constant losing and even with a new manager they might struggle to turn around the feeling in the club

Bristol Rovers 4th faves for league 2

Although I think if its not Pompey it'll be Burton or Chesterfield for that league. Sorry Joe

Yet you've managed to exclude the vast majority of them

They'll do well to finish top half, although I'd be disappointed with anything less than playoffs

I've revised the title to non-premiership thread, I feel I owe it to football and I apologise.

Predictions for Cov City this season playing at Northampton for the next 3 yeaa??

I half feel sorry for them, but at the same time couldn't give a shit.

They've been destroyed by having awful owners, who've run them into the ground. The fa have been a complete joke in the whole affair.

But Richard Keys supports them, so I don't care

we've brought in some good new players at millwall and a new manager in Lomas seems to have created a new energy around the team. So no doubt relegation battle haha
