The VW Golf R will get four-wheel drive as standard, as well as a choice of manual and DSG automatic gearboxes. Cars fitted with the automatic gearbox will go from 0-62mph in just 4.9 seconds, while those with the six-speed manual gearbox can manage the same sprint in 5.3 seconds. Both cars continue to a top speed of 155mph.

A Hatchback witha 0-60 under 5 seconds as standard

M135i (or whatever) is under 5 secs to 60 also, iirc.

Golf looks alright, rather boring though. Doesn't excite my tingly bits.

Wheels, once again, are shocking. Ripspped have definitely been hired by aston martin and volkswagen.

The thing is though, look at any of it's rivals or most new cars for that matter, they're all fairly boring to look at.

Take that M135i for example, that's even more bland, just looks like any other 1 series.

A lot of manufacturers are just building cars and re-badgeing them, yeah this has probably been going on for years but you look at cars like the Vauxhall Agila, its the same as a Suzuki Splash (and something else I think) Vauxhall Vivaro = Renault Master = Nissan Primstar the new Vauxhall Combo is a re-badged Fiat Doblo...

Original ford galaxy was the same as a volkswagen sharon. Whats your point?

Mk4 fiesta - mazda 121.

It makes sense. Saves on development costs.

Wheels are terrible but I like the rest of it.

Also like that it's quite subdued, probably perfect for the market which it's aimed at. Which at the rumoured price point will be older guys.

I thought I made my point clear in my last post, maybe you didn't read it or are too inept to understand it.

Although I did forget about the MK4 Fiesta/Mazda 121 and there was one of each near me for years lol

It's not clear at all.

People are saying all cars look the same, as a generalisation.

You're going on about platform/model sharing. Totally different subject.
