I imagine that gets the adrenalin going, but I can't help think the pay is rather pants and the idea of being on a zero hours contract is frightening.
No chance of getting a mortgage on that.

Its cover for the strike. I'd quite happily drive a big lorry fast for £150/day.

No, the contract will state that there will be an expectation to work to a certain extent (depending on the role.... ours are to the customers requirements or requirements of the business)
All it means is that there is no guarantee of hours to be offered nor if offered do they have to be accepted.

Same. If it were me I would book annual leave for the dates they require help.
Don't see it as the next career move.

Says within given speed limits. Does this mean guideline speed limits for fire incidents or normal speed limits? Around town you wouldnt get to drive very fast if its normal speed limits

Have you ever seen fire engines on blue lights runs on nsl roads? I've overtaken one who was doing approx 60mph before.
I also imagine it could be rather annoying trying to negotiate your way through busy town/city centres.

Fireman for the week.
Always fancied doing this, but ONLY wanted to do this.
My Grandad was a fireman during the blitz so always had a bit of an appreciation for fire engines.
Didn't want to do all the climbing ladders and dealing with melted babies though, so that pretty much put me out of the running.

They are wanting non drivers too. I was going to do it but I couldn't make the training dates because of holiday.
Also you only get called up if they strike which I can't see happening

My father in laws Mrs is the nurse doing the medicals up here, I told her I had an inhaler through summer due to hay fever. Bad idea as a new intake has just opened up here so I have no chance of getting in, I can't even lie

Oh, the medical is quite tight as they don't have time to be sending you off for tests like they do with the proper firefighters. Anyone that has any sort of asthma just gets refused.
