So my mates been having his mk5 golf mapped at sedox performance... His turbo died on the dyno..

After a quick google he thinks its happened to a few cars there... Could it be how it was mapped? Or just the extra stress?

Also on a side note i have a suspicion its vsport/pdtuning and good old dave a trading under a new name..

not a lot he can do because he would have signed a form to say he wont hold them responsible for any faults caused whilst on the dyno

Wouldn't you just go to the extra hassle of doing things properly Instead of moving shop constantly!

Brother went for mapping few weeks back. Now he has a new engine coming over from Renault France :-( expensive day. Not mappers fault, just gotta expect these things if you putting more stress on things.

Must be the mappers fault as the car must have been fine before as it had only done fifty five thousand miles.

If my car was being mapped and blew up I would definitely blame the mappers. They charge money for being the experts so they should also take responsibility when it goes wrong.

The extra stress of being mapped outside of initial spec, not stress of a dyno.

I don't agree. It's their responsibility to check the car over but it's not always a fault caused by mapping, it could be a weak component which you'd have no way of knowing.

fair enough....

was speaking to a guy a few weeks ago about things like this and he summed it up perfectly

"if you want to play, be prepared to pay"
cant take a car that's built to run a certain power... chuck aload more through it and not expect problems

It happens, your thrashing the bollox out the engine, one of the reasons i won't bother with RR day for no reason what so ever.
