Is there any regulation around the the temperature of a working office environment?

I'm normally a hot person, sleep without covers in winter etc, yet our office is bloody freezing constantly and no matter how much people complain they can't seem to sort it out.

Literally can't feel my fingers and people sitting in cardigans and coats.

i think there is a minimum level before PPE should be provided, ie those working in freezers and other cold environments the rules done apply to if PPE is offered.

what the magic value is i dont know....
probably some get out phrase like "provide a comfortable working environment" which is subjective to what is considered "comfortable"

Tallest building in Manchester.

Apparently because it's so old there's nothing the can do about improving the in-built air-con system which constantly blows out freezing cold air.

Well it averaged -3 by my ramp for the bulk of last winter so i'd say there's probably not much in the way of min temp legislation Ash.

As said 16dc is the point where elf n safety consider it too cold to work in (I don't really consider 16dc cold tbh 10dc and lower then it starts to bite) you can (I think) refuse to work in temperatures like you're experiencing even if your employer says you cant, its up to them to provide a safe and comfortable working environment.

There is no limit on how hot it can be though.

I would love it if it was red hot, being cold is a different story though, especially when you go the gym after and have to spend half an hour warming up first

At least in an outside job you're moving around to keep warm. Sat at a desk in a cold room you freeze, especially your mouse hand!
