Spotted this on the news this morning, glad to know I'm in good hands if I'm ever in hospital.

Wouldn't surprise me if they didn't know what number came between 3 and 4 so just left it out.

Jesus that is bad. I would literally withdraw from any cancer treatment I needed if I saw that. The ability to spell drawer is integral to being a good nurse or doctor.

Probably sarcastic but if it was anyone in a position to be administering treatment then I'd agree with the comment.

It's not even spelling, it's thinking that the word 'drawer' is actually the word 'draw'. This means you've had to be especially complacent in missing that throughout your whole life. Would you then trust them to have paid attention in the cancer class?

I imagine if they earned their degree to get into the profession they are in that they did.

That's a big mistake to make. Degree in medicine (or anything) is not indicative of actually being any good at that subject.

Oh well I'll be sure to give my doctor a quick spelling test in future to make sure he can do his job as that's the new barometer of intelligence and competency.

Plenty of very intelligent people aren't great at spelling. I'd maybe agree if instead of drawer they wrote "toilet seat" but I'd wager a good amount that plenty of people in highly skilled jobs would make the same mistake and they'd still be capable of performing their job to a high standard just fine.

Surely to be classed as highly intelligent you need to be able to spell the word drawer? I wouldn't care how much of a brain someone was, if they couldn't spell a basic six letter word they're clearly a dumb fuck, through ignorance or whatever the reason

Though I agree it was probably not a person with an MD who made the labels

Of course you can be highly intelligent without being able to spell a word, or in this case not spell but incorrect usage of the word.

Einstein was a poor speller but infinitely more intelligent than me.

Intelligence is about far more than spelling ability

This kind of thing drives me up the wall. Same with people saying "brought" instead of "bought".
