How much you willing to spend. 700+bhp has been acheived before now. 300bhp is good going for a fairly modest budget.

I think the k16 will be happy about 280 but lads have pushed nearer 300 but don't last as long. Or the k26 will do 300bhp all day.

I ran a shade over 300 although the turbo died after about a year. Don't know how old it was or what condition it was in when I got it however.

You don't want to push anymore than 300bhp on stock internals. I thought the standard kkk turbo is only safe-ish at upto 260bhp. I had my let running 296 at the fly which is touching cloth imo, I was running td05 turbo from an evo 4 which still had plenty more in it but the internals never.

id disagree with that, the std internals will see a good bit of power if its mapped correct imho.

300bhp I'd want arp rod bolts.
300 to 450ish I'd want steel rods and standard Mahles. (With standalone and decent mapping)
Over that forged pistons as well.

I know of a car that ran 400bhp on standard bottom end just arp's and it did it well for a year just doing drags.

I know of an xe that made over 300 with a booster strapped to it, used as a road vehicle.

Maybe Im wrong. perhaps people have different opinnions on what you can put standard internals through!? I don't agree with 400bhp on standard internals. that's bulshit sorry

From what I've seen of std components, I'd quite happily run std internals with a thicker head gasket at 400bhp on aftermarket management. A lot of people get confused at what breaks and for what reason in these engines. It's far from bullshit.

Standard pistons will piss 400bhp all day long with a decent map, beeen done many times.
I'd be tempted to use them up too 500bhp tbh.

Rods on the other hand my bum would clench over 350 even with arps

I'd say mine is running around the 300+bhp mark on a steel headgasket and and k26 turbo never had a problem yet, i'd say the rods are the weak point in these engines when going for more power as many people have pushed the pistons to 500bhp successfully.

No.

Standard turbo wont see upwards of 300bhp. And if it does, it won't last long.
