Anyone able to shed abit of lignt in this. Is it road legal if you cut out the rear quarter insides and also underthe bonnet and all inside of bootlid?
Want to loose as much weight as possible but still stay road legal for my cars used everyday
Thanks in advance
Jonny

If you cut the inner quarter out you will loose all the rigidity to the car.
The bonnet frame you can cut out but will be very wobbly.

Why does it need to be that light?

this is wrong however as said its not road legal
the strength of the chassis is mainly in the double skin bits

Seems like its not a good idea.
Going down the route of get it light an plenty grip before more power.
Sound deadening is next to go the plastic windows and possibly dash. If its legal to cut back boot and bonnet they will be done to

...of if you can pin your tailgate shut you could remove the 12mm thick bit of steel on the back panel that the boot latches too. things like that have some weight in them haha

It will make the body weaker, if I can tell the difference between the 5door Clio and the the 3door Clio I drove. This will 100% be a wobbly piece of poo

Be interested to see if that is any lighter when it goes back together and the floor is skinned.
And yes, looks a bit thin.

No reason why that couldn't be road legal?
