My centre box is like a cheese grater and my down pipe is more holy than jesus but I reckon I'm still getting decent mpg. People keep saying I'll pay for it in petrol etc but I don't reckon its making much difference! I get 35mpg round town and upto 50 on motorways. Its a x16xe corsa b sport. What do people reckon and what other side effects have you heard people say!

You get 50mpg out of a 1.6 sport, how do you manage that?

I've done 2000 miles in four weeks and hit a constant 45mpg on mway 50 if I drive like a granddad. 30 to 35 round town. Taking the piss don't change that, it is what it is

You tend to get lambda issues as its difficult to measure the mixture if the gasses can vent prematurely.

Normally appears as a lean mixture, which in turn will be made more rich. Hence the fuel issues.

That figure does sound optimistic, might be worth verifying your calculations are accurate so you know exactly where you are.

Its also an MOT fail so sort it before then.

It passed the mot 4 weeks ago lol I've got all the new parts and fittings here to do this weekend. To be fair I have no clue if the guages are accurate or if having 16" wheels affect anything.

I struggled to get 30mpgs out of my Corsa gsi and was always revving high on motorway so god knows how your getting nearly 50mpgs?! Your speedo will be out most likely due to the up size in wheels what size tyres are they?

205/45/16 3200 revs at 72 mph it really has been good on fuel, can't fault it really for that

I dont think sitting at 6k rpm is good for fuel consumption

1.6 sports are thirsty fuckers like

as for hole in the exhaust, i had a hole 50p sort of size in the center section on the daily ghetto bus (vectra b diesel) and i never noticed a change in how much fuel it used... tbh it hardly does use fuel

If only car manufacturers realised that blowing fucked exhausts made so good mpg. They could save a load in factory slapping on fucked exhausts.

Talking about as much shit as David Cameron pal.
