I think they're quite beautiful.
There'll probably be some rust though Pinky, even on a clean one.
Is it the V6? Gotta get the V6 really
It will be trouble at some point (no it's not all imagined by the creators of Top Gear just for a laugh), but probably worth it.
It's one of about three or four Alfas i'd ever consider having, so i'm biased
When you say 'cheap', how cheap? Not sure what they go for these days.
And does it look like a basket case? Cos if it does, it'll definitely make your life a misery.

It looks very tidy in silver...
Unsure on the engine as i didnt have time to stop
Its £450ono and has tax and test presumably as its parked on a main road.
I feelthe need to scratch my alfa itch and this has got christmas bonus written all over it, I have a trade policy with my old man so insurance isnt a worry.
Most people ive encountered with alfas seem to complain about bushes, rust and electrics... SOund like fun!

Christ! Unless she's full of rust, or doesn't drive, i'd have to be getting that!
Too cheap to miss out if she's a goer. And if she IS the V6, consider it sold
I thought she was gonna be thousands, not hundreds. Unless she's too poorly to fix, that's just too cheap to miss out on.
What colour is she Pinky?

Oh yeah, sorry, you said silver.
Jealous now. Best colour ever for them apart from that sort of metalic slate grey/black they came in.
Looks miles better than red in either.

And if your Dad would frown on you for buying something as lovely as a GTV(6), he's a heartless devil.

The T-Spark engines are good as well, especially for £450

I'm baffled. I didn't realise they existed back then. I thought they just had the big old twin cam or the V6.

Ah, that may explain it. If you're thinking of that era GTV, the T-spark came in this era.

Don't count out the Alfa 2.0 NA engine.
150bhp, and I swear in a big 5 door Alfa, it pulled harder and faster than my Redtop corsa did! It went like stink for what it was. It just liked a drink, verging on being an alchy...
And put aside for gearboxes, complete new wiring etc

Yes, i did.
That cost me £480. Was the Lusso model too so better interior etc. Rear seats are pretty much useless as seats.
Was a 2 owner car, and lady owned for the last 9/10 years with a full Alfa history and no expense spared. Was the 2.0 Tspark and went ok. Needed to be revved. The way it drove was awesome though. Gear change, brakes, road handling was brilliant. The driving position is the only bad thing. The seat feels high up and you can't adjust it.
I would love a V6 version.
For £450 it could be a hit or a miss. They aren't holding value very good just now and if it needs a belt change and cam variator then you will need to do that or it won't last long. Belt change interval was lowered as they have a tendency to snap.
