You could put some reflectors elsewhere though which would then make them legal.

I used to just put on the little reflector hands with magnetic strip for the MOT. Then take them back off again when I had smoked rears.

Bit daft having a reflective strip on a car when you can see the back end/reg plate anyway especially when the lights are on.

Exactly, it makes no sense at all. The attempt at comedy, just makes him look foolish.

Ouch. Had clear rears without reflectors on my 12v for 6+ years, never been stopped, always went thru MOT.

Not daft at all. You have a reflector either side so approaching a parked car you are likely to be able to see either side of it. And if both rear lamps fail in motion cars behind stand a better chance of seeing you in their lights. The clear ones generally have reflectors in them just not red ones, I don't see an issue there myself as I don't think you could mistake them for headlights at all. Not sure if. MHWs have a reflector at all which is probably why you got a fine Mike, I never had any trouble with mine though. Police pulled me over for having clears because the coloured bulbs had faded and it appeared to be a yellow ish light for break lights but they sent me on my way and just told me to sort it.

In regards to pissing water in, did you have them seated right and the foam thing in?
