As long as you got what you wanted for it, dealers will always get more then private sellers. Guess people feel more comfortable buying from a dealer. I no it's not ways a good thing for some people it's piece of mind.

Whats the big deal? Dealer will sell with a warranty which you couldn't give.

Or are you saying that this guy is a badman for trying to make a profit on a car you sold cheaply?

He filled the trader bit but said only as he was putting it on his dads policy...

I sold my Golf to a dealer.

Bought it off a lad who just wanted to clear his finance (nephew to a guy i had worked with for years). I paid him 7k for it, he paid off his finance, i sold it on 4 months later for £7500.

In that time i'd only cleaned it, put 2 new tyres on it and drove it at weekends as i had a company car also.

I broke even and everyone was happy! Had a boss car for a few months.

I wouldn't even be that annoyed because you sold it within about an hour with no hassle.

Sounds easy to me. No comeback on you for the sake of a few hundred quid and they will have to warrant the car if they sell it through a dealers.
