What is this worth? I'm thinking it's a nice example but worth 4.5k

Fuck off £4.5k. Look on eBay and see what you get for £4.5k. Will be 05/06 with 80k+. Thats low mileage 07. And is the special edition. Bound to be worth more. Cheapest on eBay is £5.5k with 79k miles. I'd say £6k

The only thing special with that one is leather and the colour.

Mine is a better spec

My personal biggest expense was the cam shaft going. The cause was incorrect oil used for most of its life. I would be asking what oil is used to maintiain the car and anything ither than a PD oil would make me walk away from it.

Having said that, it is the best colour

One other thing to note is that if you plan on pumping your wife full of baby juices, it isn't the biggest car to be loading up prams, seats and what not but we just about get by having come from a bigger car.

I'm tight, I wouldn't pay 6k for it. Maybe £5250 at a push.

It's 7 years old!

So on these you need to check the service history

Seems the perfect little car to use for work. You have probably guessed why i'm looking at 5 doors.

Only thing that worries me is the age of these. The 2010 308 has started to rot and has enough built in rattles to keep a baby happy

Sadly, that doesn't mean much nowadays, mine his perfect history with milage oil changes done 2k shorter than recommended and everything changed when needed too. The problem is no-one documents the actual name of the oil that they use on the book do they?

Also, last nights fiasco was a wiring fault that had been "Bodged" which I found out about the hard way.

Wouldnt worry about main dealer service history, they are just as good / bad as independents. I personally would say independent is better because they need your business and word of mouth, main stealer servicing departments will have warranty work and other stuff coming out their ears all the time anyway

My car is up for sale, i need the funds from this to buy something else. I can get another £500 - £750 together giving me around 6k and a bit for additional insurance costs.

After something diesel that will not depreciate as quick as the pug.
