So just received access to my new list and I have to say the taxman has well and truely screwed over the benefits of having a company car
Effectively my car is currently 13% BIK and now all the ones I am looking at are between 20% and 23% so increase is quite dramatic.
Short list based on doing some quotes is;
320D MSport Plus package with Business Media and folding seats
518D MSport - as it comes
C220 Coupe AMG premium with nav and panoramic roof
A6 2.0 TDI 177 Black Edition - Pretty much as it comes as its got good spec with Sat Nav, 20inch alloys, folding seats, Bose system,
Maybe new C Class when it comes out
Out there is also Golf R DSG but don't fancy the fuel bills and it not that well spec'd - also S3
At the moment A6 and 3 series are favourites
Anyone had experience with any of the above cars

I know but I didn't spec them on my current one and its the one option I missed.
Makes me laugh that you have to pay for them

Get a Hybrid - not a Prius granted but is the Lexus on the list? 10% BIK
Piss off you have to pay for folding seats in a BMW these days? Cunts :lol;

Dad does 50k a year, we worked out the other day that his car costs him in tax a year the same amount as 1.5 months worth of fuel, working on the basis of 2.5 £55 tanks a week.
That's a car, tax, insurance, all fuel (personal & business), servicing, repairs, tyres, breakdown for the same that he would put into a 55MPG car in 1 and ahalf months. Bargains ahoy.

My Jag hasn't got folding seats and its the single biggest pita about the car. I'd never have one without again.

It's odd isn't it, something that came as standard in a C reg base spec nova is now listed alongside 20 inch wheels , dsg or whatever.
But like you said, it's pritty much essential

I'd go for the 5 series if you could put some decent options on it. But if the 5 series can't have any options then out of that list I'd have the A6.
I'm hopefully picking up my 520d M Sport at the weekend, I looked at 3's but they felt a bit small and not as nice inside with the screen just sticking out of the dash.

the 5 series would be first choice if I could spec the plus pack with wheels etc
But I am not willing to put anymore money so it would as it comes which means its less desirable to me
E220CDI AMG Sport is also a good contender as its very well spec'd

Yes that's the trouble with the BMW it needs the 19's and a good few more options to make it a really good car. Luckily mines got the 19's, pro nav, visibility pack, sun protection and 8 speed auto so quite well spec'd.
I really like the look of the E class AMG's and mercs usually come well spec'd as standard.

I'm so glad I don't have to fuck about with company cars. Looks like far too much of a faff.

Get the Audi and get it remapped - if anyone asks, say you know nothing.

so total costs vary from £230 to £310 depending on car and how much extra I am willing to pay
Taking some tests drives next week which should help me make a decision

I would disagree. All expenses paid brand new car, every 'x' years, fully maintained, fully insured.
The only cost to me is my private fuel and associated tax.
Paul - I have a 63 plate Audi A6 2.0 TDI 177 Black Edition Multitronic. I have it in Daytona grey pearl with black leather. Only additional option I selected was auto folding door mirrors.
Stonking car and chews the miles better than any of my previous company cars.
It gets replaced in a couple of months so also on the look out for the next car

Great stuff - I really do liek the look of the A6 package although I worry its not as nice to drive as the BMW. However the spec etc is far better than anything else

Same here. Its an absolute no brainer for me. the saving on insurance is worth it alone!
I pay for private fuel and £33 a month tax.
Although I only get a Clio
