Electric problems will be because the the pipes that run down from the roof will be blocked and overflow into the footwell where all the control modules are. Open the door and the small rubber pipe. Squeeze the end and I bet alot of water comes out. They need a blower down the top to get all the shit out.

1.9 dci renault megane estate/sport tourer. Mines great had a couple of little things but been a good car. 50+ no nother and really comfy and dont hang around either

406 is a great car for that purpose. Vectra estates are massive inside so also good.

I bought an 07 Laguna 150 dci with leather and nav etc with 104k for £1000. If you shop around you would get one similar for around £1600

Once they get slightly wet they just get worse. The wire start to rust and all short out. Not good.
