I'm going to guess on pretty much everyone outside of London having a car and those without have either been banned or actually live in London.

There's never been a time since November 2005 that I haven't owned a car, there was a nearly 2 month window where my car wasn't usable but even then, I had access to my brother's. I find it hard enough when I have to take my car to a garage and I'm without it for a day or two but giving up my car and using public transport instead, I'd feel like I'd lost my legs.

I'm the same, missus' car was in the garage yesterday so she took me to work and picked me up. Even not having my car at work was a royal pita and to make matters worse, her car didn't get finished so she's got no car today and is stuck at home.

Im going through a car sharing phase with mrs. Got a 3 series and a Smax due in may. Neither feel like my car though, there's no sense of ownership.
Steering towards the idea to get rid of the beemer and get a boxster or cayman S as 2nd car. I think I could enjoy driving again then

Have a corsa. If you're on here and don't have a car you're a bit weird. Unless you're planning on buying a corsa or something.

Not been without one since passing.
Can see the benefits, must save you grands - but only where public transport is suitable.
Can't imagine using it round here. In fact it would make my commute three buses and over an hour compared to 15 minutes in a car.

Been without a car for just over a year now (passed my test 7 years ago).
Car had too many faults so instead of spending money on it I let it go and haven't been able to afford one since.
Don't really need a car to get to work so its not really been an inconveinence.

Have gone several 6 months periods without cars in the past. In fact before my current one I was just getting the bus to work and using mums car in the evening for driving to the missus...
I just bought one again because I remember it's my hobby not just a tool, and for that reason I don't think I'd be without one again, it's not really a need but a want for me!
