Anyone watch this tonight? What on earth were they thinking?
Classic example of old blokes thinking more=more. Shocking.

Seen worse.
Just annoying how many times they had to use the word "wankel" tonight

It was a decent show in that I learned how a wankel engine works. Never really understood it before, but ed explained it in lamens terms.
Just a shame the car looked bloody awful. Also don't believe the guy paid almost double what he sold it for just to have it back.

If he sold that for £10k, I'm putting mine on PH for £15k
Strangely enough that bodykit (or at least the front) is a super rare Type 2 Mazdaspeed OEM job. Not that it makes it less ugly

Mapping bit was the only real positive.
Also what are the benifits of using the rolling road instead of those hub dyno's they were using. The hub things seemed a lot simpler

Wheeler Dealers is a comedy programme and should always be treated as such.

Safer, no need to tie the car down, less adjustment for transmission loss without the wheels on. Just takes a bit longer to get the car mounted.

Was it true what ed said about an rx7 rotary engine being the equivilent of a conventional 4.0 engine?
I always thought (and have read a few times) that the 1.3 was doubled (2 rotors), which makes 2.6 and nowhere near 4000cc.

Wankel Edd said something like, 'finally we've got a Wankel in the garage' - I was half listening and genuinely thought for a second he said wanker
Those wheels were well nice

If you calculate the CC the same way as you would a piston engine, it would be a 2.6, but its not a piston engine, so can't be calculated the same way.
They are a 1.3.

Not quite. You have two rotors in the 13B (3 in the 20B and 4 in the R26B), with three faces to each triangle. Each face has an effective displacement of 654cc, which gives the common 1.3 litre capacity. However, Mazda had to redefine the capacity due to various legislation, which said that as two faces on each rotor are involved with intake and compression ( the third being in the exhaust phase), the displacement must be doubled. That's why RX7s are generally registered as 1.3, but RX8s are all 2.6.
In terms of comparison to other engines, they're closest to 6 cylinders.

Have to say the end was a proper WTF moment. Who on earth in there right mind sells a car and then buys it back for 4k more than they sold it, with only 1ks worth of parts fitted;.
