My mondeo looked higher when I put 17" wheels on it too, probably cause the suspension on the SRi is slightly lower as standard

I have a daily driver, ok not going to drive my let to work everyday with a paddle clutch, then drive in our works car park which is completely uneven, and full of big pot holes
