Thought this deserved its own thread as its fairly large news imo
Anyway rumours, some of them more nailed on then others, so far.
Moyes to get the sack, probably announced tomorrow when the NYSE opens.
Giggs and Butt to take over until end of the season.
4.5m severance package for Moyes, which suggests to me he had a top 4, or some other clause in his contract.
Next manager? who knows, favourite atm is Van Gaal. Dream managers for me, either Guardiola, or Klopp. Yes im aware either of thise aren't going anywhere

I'm hearing Steve Kean is in with a decent shout for the vacancy.

I hope if he does go then Phil Neville and the rest will leave. I said last summer that I wanted Phelan in charge but that's too much of a risk now and I doubt him and he others will come back.
No problems with Giggs as a temp but we need to sort somebody out asap so he can be ready for the summer signings. Some of the players who are planning on leaving may change their minds now as well but that might not be a good thing

Yep, gone. And a very stupid move. Why back him right til the end of the season, and sack him just before he can start to rebuild?

Feel sorry for him but it's for the best. He's looked out of his depth from the start. And could you honestly see David Moyes being able to attract the kind of players we need.

I feel sorry for him. But couldn't see it going anywhere. He didn't appear to have any vision, you can still have an ethos, even if the players aren't doing it for you, his ethos just seemed to be to continue the Everton way though. As iv said before its not a much the results more the way they happened

Shouldn't have let Fergie pick his successor in the first place. Fucking retarded idea.

Still think he got a lot more time than most other clubs, majority of fans were also more supportive than those of other teams

TBH I don't like the fact we've sacked someone so soon but it had to be done in this situation

That was a minority. It was booed in the ground.
There's some beauties being posted on the redcafe forum right now
quote: really wish him all the best, thanks for everything Dave. And sorry, it's nothing personal, I don't hate you as a person, just as a manager. Sorry you happen to be our manager at the wrong time and place.
Wish you all the best, grab some holiday and get some sunshine for a while
As if he's going to read that

When you sack someone is immaterial, despite this weird fascination with it.
You have to give someone time to revamp the squad though when the squad they have been left with isn't comparable to the goals the club want to achieve.
I think all this proves is the club are unrealistic.
