One written off, one too expensive to repair for mechanical failure, one just old and tired, one wanted a new car, one wanted a faster car.

They've all been shit.

Apart from the Impreza but that was just stupidly expensive to run.

Kept the Clio 182 longer than any other car... will likely get of this one eventually purely for a change.

Got a good deal on scrap page scheme (Corsa B 1.2 8v)
Needed too much spending on welding for its MOT (Carlton GSI)
Needed a major service and it wasn't getting used much (bug eye wrx)
Finding mk1 escort parts was proving too difficult (Dutton Kit car)
Fabia VRS and Locoblade project (current)

Corsa B 1.2 16v - got kicked in outside school, lost interest, was a 1.2 and I wanted more speed
Ibiza TDI no1 - Crashed it
Clio dCi - too slow and too rattly
Ibiza TDI no1 - Started to go wrong a lot and had the money for a new new car
Still have the MiTo

Got short of my 2nd 1.2 8v Corsa for the MX5 - stripped and scrapped the Corsa
Got shot of the MX5 to raise funds for the camper.

Grandad gave me a Mk5 Escort van that I washed/cleaned up, took the sign writing off, put a code in the stereo and reattached the front bumper and sold for a tidy little profit when I was 17

First Corsa - crashed
Second Corsa - traded on a new one with free insurance.
Third Corsa - was a bit boy racer for commuting in when I cared about image
First Astra - wasn't a convertible
Second Astra - engine was goosed, didn't idle nice, bit smokey, was going to need lots of work in the days before I could do it myself
First Freelander - was never right after an accident repair, centre viscous coupling was beginning to seize, mum had also recently bought one and it made more sense to borrow that having just bought another Astra.
First Discovery - terrible on fuel but mostly I wanted a green one.
Second / my mums Freelander will go because its got no power low down and isn't nice to commute, doesn't have cruise for long journeys and I'd also prefer an auto for towing, she also hasn't driven it for about a year because she prefers my Astra.

Corsa B 1.4 8v - Fitted enough shit to make it undrivable, so bought second car and eventually sold this as it wasn't being used.

Corsa C 1.2 16v - Sold when I went back to school.

Escort mk3 1.3 - Inherited from a family member. Sold when the missus moved in as she couldn't work the manual choke. Also it was shit.

Corsa C 1.4 16v - Wanted something better, more economical, more special and with more extras.

1994 LS 8v (1 year) - shafted one of the cylinders driving like a douche

1995 SRi 8v (2 years) - bottom end let go, that was an interesting 60 mile drive at 15mph the whole way

1998 Escort 1.8Si (4 months) - replaced the Corsa but failed it's MOT on so many things. Also I swear blind the driver's seat was on the piss, even a 10 mile drive would give me bad back. Celebrated it going by driving it all 8 miles to the scrap yard in 1st gear

2001 Astra 2.0DTi (5 years ) - brilliant car, never let me down even once. First car I've managed to sell running, although when I went to sell it after 5 years of ownership) I found out it was a writeoff and repaired, I always wondered why it came with a 1.6LS handbook . I only sold it because I wanted an estate with the baby on the way

2006 Megane 1.5DCi estate (current) - comfy to drive, properly good on fuel (over 60mpg) and can fit most of my house in the back. It's a shame the electric windows have mardy fits when you want to use them and it lets water in like a holey dinghy - but then it is French right?

Bikes
1999 Aprillia RS125 (8 months) - loved it, but in the short time I owned it I had to have the engine rebuilt 3 times, and it sounded shit, but god it was quick for such a piddly engine (it was restricted of course ). Passed my test on it anyway, served it's purpose. Swapped it for a 1998 ZXR400 I think...

1998 Kwak ZXR400 (3 months) - rode it round with no tax while the '88 ZXR was having it's (I forget what they are called, valve thingies??) replaced and kept it off road until I could get rid of it. The bloke who bought it off me picked it up on a low loader, rang me later and said he was surprised the back wheel hadnt fallen off due to the hub nut barely being screwed on

1988 Kwak ZXR400 - brilliant little bike, easily matches the performance of my current 600 due to it's weight and revvy engine. Needed a bit more house deposit monies so I sold it.

2002 Suzuki GSXF600 - apart from a bit of a dodgy battery this beast gets me to work and back every day and doesn't ask for anything apart from an oil change every year, can't complain really. Apart from the time it threw me off in the middle of Nottingham in front of a police car
