I always work at Power Stations.

I use whatver Hotels are suitable with an distance of around 10 miles, that don't charge a fortune and have vacancies.

Saying that, I do short term visits, so this approach works for me.

I'm only there for shut downs and super heater replacement so 4 to 7 weeks at a station. The company pays for it but be nice to get in a house share or something. Or maybe a room to rent as don't wanna be stuck in a hotel on my own

From what I have seen on my travels, a lot of B&Bs etc close to Stations generally offer specific Contractor accomodation & rates during busy periods such as Outages.
So may be worth having a little search on Google.

Yeah I got this rate... £22 per hour for 38 hours. Mon - fri 7 til 3 Fri 7 - 1 anything over these 38 hours is double time. For this outage in Deptford is 12 hour days 7 days a week.
