Autoglym HD Wax looks the tits on grey (as shown below), is a piece of piss to use, only needs one coat, the tub lasts forever and the finish lasts 2-3 months if kept clean, only downside is it costs about £40.
Collinite 476S is almost as good, but for half the price - usually less than £20 (although you really should do two or three layers, so two or three times the work).

I have a grey car and am happy with the finish the collinite 476s gives. It's also very long lasting.

I just use AM Details synthetic sealant. Half the effort and cost same results!

Can't beat the 476s imo. £12 or very close to that and last for ages.

If you want to collapse on the ground in a puddle of sweat after doing one panel, old school Simoniz hard wax works alright.
Tried it yesterday on the bootlid of my Merc. Quite a glassy finish, but CHRIST it's hard work.
I'd love to try some of this HD stuff as everyone raves about it, but sadly I dont have fifty quid to burn

I'll give that a miss sounds like hard work I might try a sample pot of dodo juice, do you apply it with a foam applicator pad? And take it off with a micro fibre cloth?

Yes (moisten it first), and yes.
HD Wax comes with two applicators and a decent microfibre - goes some way to justifying the cost.

The thing about Collinite (and I do agree it is a great product) is that you really should layer it for the best appearance and durability, so although it's cheaper up front, you use 2-3 times as much each time so HD Wax is actually more cost effective (especially if you factor in the value of your time).

Halfords currently have a 3 for 2 on Autoglym products so if two other people were in the market for some and want to club together, you could all get sorted for £30 each.

Same here, used to use a lot of fancy waxes and sealants but I don't have the time these days to spend an entire weekend detailing my car
Last coat of Collinite was in October and it's still beading very slightly now, desperate for a clay bar and re-wax though

Same here. One layer easily lasts 3 months.
Dodo Juice doesn't even begin to compare imo.
476s is easier to apply and lasts longer. Can't argue with the price, either.
A tub lasts for years as well.

This is probably going to sound crazy, but maybe try it then?

Yeah, Meguiars stuff is good - just use that. (its not really wax though - it's sealant. In any case it will help keep your car look shiny for longer and you already have some so use it!)
