Recently got the Audi A3 TDI, but don't like it and get the feeling its going to go wrong and cost me loads of money, i think i would rather get rid now while its still worth something (about £4k)
Not sure what to replace it with, will have corrado for mucking about with etc I need something cheap to run really, the A3 does 40-50mpg quite easily.
I started looking at another A3 TDI a Golf TDI or a TT but all too expensive really, i was hoping to go to a dealer and part ex the Audi an maybe get a car thats £6-8k but most of the cars i like at the dealers are about £12k
I was limiting myself to a VW or Audi mainly because i have vagcom etc, but now decided that's a silly criteria to set myself.
Should i start looking at Fords and Vauxhalls?

Why will it go wrong? Just seems strange since you're wanting to swap for basically the same cars.

Its the BKD engine and already had flywheel problems, i get the feeling the injectors have issues, slight misfire sometimes.

similar situation i got rid of my golf mk5 BKD last week, was a real POS but tbh nothing major ever went wrong, turbo vanes stuck if you didnt thrash it, EGR cooler pissed water into the exhaust before it was remove, and even then it still used coolant now iv proper gone of new vag stuff. at 100k you just know your on the brink of shit going wrong
iv set myself a 7k ish budget so im gonna get an low miles E46 330D coupe and remap it

Had a look at cars today. Decided vags are to expensive. The fords look really poo and dull. Really would like a Toyota gt86 but they about £20k and I don't want something that will make me lose interest in corrado.
Are the more modern a3 tdi engines better? Like 2010 models.

I think it would have to be a passat estate (b5.5) for me personally. Ultimate daily.

My Ibiza has the common rail tdi engine like the 2010 model A3 onwards. Done 1,000 miles and not broken down so far so must be reliable

Might be nicer to drive than your Corrado

Probably nicer in terms of comfort and bumpsteer etc, but corrado is a lethal weapon tbh Just don't get the same feedback from a modern car.

The new engine is costing over £2k
http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/renault/renaultsport-megane/renault-megane-x84-p2-renaultsport-230-f1team-r26-full-fsh-le-no-1156/2428294?isexperiment=true

I'd go for a focus diesel.
They are okay aslong as you leave them alone and know what preventative maintenance to take, ie removing the EGR, cleaning your turbo vanes, replace clutch before it explodes itself.

Where will i find out about doing that stuff? Going to scan it with vagcom soon to see if it shows anything.

Get a BMW you ninny. Will drive better than the Corrado which you will then sell and now have more cash to buy a nicer BmW which won't need a new engine every 4weeks and 63 hours of labour a month
