Can't take ballbags like Ewan McGregor seriously asking for donations, or that cricketer with his 20k Audemars Piguet on.

You know how some places look good on TV then when you go it's a bit disappointing. Well Glasgow looks like a shit hole in real life and now on TV it seems.
The athletes look like they're hanging around in some shit hole car park

Had this discussion before. Some of Glasgow is a shithole, some of it is in the middle and some of it is pretty nice. There are lots of nice bits with various world famous traits.

Charity thing is a bit odd too.
"Our country is very poor, we need money. Now look at our athletes we've managed to send half way around the world to compete in a pointless games they have no chance of winning".

Haven't heard of half these countries, yet my Queen is the head of state for all of them? I need to get with the times.
Edit: just had a quick Google. Not head of state, just head of the commonwealth. A fancy title, nothing more.

Wouldn't worry about, by the time you've got round to researching it they'll have some sort of civil war and will be called something else.

Don't mind the fella.
But if this is the case, then he and all the other multi millionaires that do this sort of shite need to shut the fuck up, put their hands in their own pockets and then gtf.

I thought it encompassed Glasgow pretty well; bit cheesy, bit homosexual, some good, some bad. They certainly did not pick the best of the talent though; the best DJ in the World is from Scotland and Emile Sande or someone like that would have been a more appropriate singer than Subo or Amy McDonald.
Overriding feeling now though is I want a Scottie dog.

i saw this on a Friends facebook
it seems that Scotlanmd really forked out for the opening ceremony...a cherry picker and a Hilux...
i know people have said it cant be compared to the Olympics...and i can see why!
pantomime seems an accurate evaluation.
its a shame as i was hoping for more...left feeling disappointed

Who cares about spelling when you have John Barrowman and some slim shady lesbian as your main opening act.
