Posted this in the Weekend Thread, but thought it was strange enough that I'd elaborate a bit.
Took a portrait with the family this weekend. My little brother thought it was hilarious and insisted we post it online. I didn't think much of the photo, but we gave it the common "meme treatment" and posted it on /r/funny.
Within a few hours it became the top post on the frontpage of Reddit, which I guess is what made it go viral and it began being reposted on sites all around the world.
The original imgur photo now has 2.9 million views, 2.8 of which were within the first 24 hours, and reverse image search reveals it rehosted all over the place with a shitload of photoshops showing up everywhere. Some particularly good ones on some Russian website. 
I still don't think it's a particularly funny photo, but I guess it goes to show that these things can't be predicted.
And we did all have a laugh reading the shit people came up with on Reddit.

The guy's my mums husband (and not father of us all, as proposed by Reddit) and this is his idea of a joke.
Ben, I'm not too sure how she did that tbh. I'd like to say it's caused by the momentum of me picking her up with my bull like strength, but she actually held it like that for a few seconds until the shutter went off.

Completely. I was expecting maybe a couple hundred views and ten comments.
Everyone in the photo has now been contacted by people we know who've seen it somewhere online, wanting to know if it was "leaked" or if we've posted it online ourselves.
