I know some of you are in to your watches and I've been thinking for some time a fancy a nice watch. I've had a soft spot for tag for a long while and more soecificly the grand carrera calibre 17, however I can't justify spending £4.5k on a watch the one I like is this one
http://www.precisiontime.co.uk/tag-heuer-cav518bfc6237-grand-carrera-rs2-chronograph-gents-watch.html?utm_source=google_shopping&gclid=Cj0KEQiA8f6kBRCGhMPFtev8p58BEiQAaMLmqZC1mDjH_L2UUfNourYCWtG0NJnn-tvdQM2jaFNqtqAaApG28P8HAQ
Now I went into town today to have a look and came across a few I like, after some opinions I guess on brand ect. For some reason I'm swaying towards a tag but I can't help but think it's partly down to the 'name' as well as the watch its self. I've been looking at the aquaracer range with a budget of around £1300 that would get me an entry level tag I guess similer to one of these (not this actual watch) and battery operated ect ect
http://www.goldsmiths.co.uk/TAG-Heuer-Aquaracer-Mens-Watch/p/17381008/
Whitest in gold smiths I was shown one of these
http://www.goldsmiths.co.uk/Raymond-Weil-Freelancer-Mens-Automatic-Watch/p/17340215/
Now I really like this it's stylish and an automatic watch and I like the skeleton window or what ever you want to call it, however Raymond Weil isn't a brand I've been looking at would any of who knows watches recommend this particler model? Also any for or against on brand, I appreciate it's down to personal taste ect but can't decide between tag or another brand.

I recently purchased a Longines Hydro Conquest and I couldn't be more pleased with it. I was originally looking at a New Tag/2nd hand Omega and am glad I didn't buy either.
Have a look on watchfinder.co.uk as all of their watches are guaranteed for 12 months and serviced if needs be before hand.

Love RW watches, but the one you've posted looks unbelievably boring to me. But then I prefer leather straps.
Longiness is another brand I really like the style of.

That freelancer is nice
If you want new then 1300 would get some good watches on the grey market from America can send you a link
Second hand would get you a Breitling but I have a soft spot for omega seamaster with the sword hands
I got a new watch for my collection for Christmas - Frederique Constant if you can stretch your budget in can get a manufacture in house movement for 1600
This is the one I got

I wish I was in the market for a grand carrera, when I was in gold smiths the sales man got one out for me to try on, certainly feels special when on and it grabs your attention that's for sure, I shall one day have on.

VERY NICE collection you have there. Just been offered a LONGINES grand master from a local jeweller, for £1250 and they'll give me a black leather strap as well to go with it... Slightly tempted appears there normally £1700 every were else as they have 25% off I'll add a picture now.

The reality of Rolex ownership isn't all that great.
My dad got me one 5/6 years ago, I never wear it, too afraid too, But I know it's there, I do wear it on special occasions, and will wear it for my wedding etc.
But for everyday use, I buy loads of different watches, usually all under £10

Why would you be too afraid to wear a Rolex?
