What do we think? Personally think it's pretty awful, certainly not a patch on the Mk2. It was never going to work for me really being a 5 door, and the colour choice isn't great too (this blue, plus black, white and grey, although the grey is very nice)

It's cool for a 5 door, but just doesn't have the presence the last one had. The arches are no wider as ford would've had to create new stampng gear.

Figures are pretty good though, 316bhp and 4wd.

Cool story bro comment: my mate has put a deposit down for one. Hopefully get to have a play in it.

This will be a track weapon btw. It's been designed more for that than for daily road use, so probably extremely firm.

The Mustang intrigues me more. It has it's own identity. This Focus looks too similar to the ST.

4WD at last, allegedly a new system which would enable drifting with a rear bias so handling might be decent

Looks great from the front, side profile is gash with those doors though

Nerd fact: Designers fave car as a kid was an F40. Which has the name stamped on the spoiler and he wanted to copy that idea so put it on the RS

Doesnt look that special, not bad, just not special.

That said, lower it a tad, stick some much nicer wheels on it and it would look smart.

Not a fan of 5 door hatchbacks, they just never look right.

Until now that is. I rather like it. Looks a bit like a more aggressive version of the Imprezza with a dollop of new Fiesta.

It looks pretty menacing here:

Tbh i'm interested in the Fiesta RS more, which will likely have more in common with the mk1 Focus RS.

Looks nowhere near as good as the Mk2, but for 4WD

Don't like the slab of flat plastic in the grille, what is that even for?

Don't like the dash.

No Escort Cossie is it.

I quite like it, mostly due to 4WD and 320PS.

But, the way the rear bumper flares/sags/bulges out at the bottom (best viewed on that side profile) looks shite, just to fit in a plastic vanity diffuser by the look of it. Looks like it's melted a bit.

Oh, and those wheels don't complement it much either.

The Blue in the pictures isn't the Blue it will be sold in either, this shade is a Show colour only apparently.

Is it 'proper' 4WD though? Heard it's just their take on it... or something.

There's a quote someone posted on ClioSport where the designers were officially told to tone the exterior down this time to appeal to a wider crowd what a shame.

It a similar 4wd set-up to bmw's x drive apparently, so can't be that bad...

I can only assume the plastic cover on the front grille is for vanity only, as the ST's grille is completely open.

I reckon it would look good in matt black with 340bhp and some special edition badges.

What bhp is an astra these days? I don't keep up anymore. Not even sure I know what one looks like these days.
