When you know you're struggling for ideas.
Was thinking the same today, saw an RS4 with crazy Knight-Rider style indicators and thought really, is it not enough to have a well built car with a big engine?

That's a strange advert for sure, I quite like the new indicators on the audi's look different to every one else's... At the minute any way won't be long before every one else copies

We withdrew the patent as it's a clear safety improvement, people can much more quickly recognise the movement and react to it. Corporate responsibility calls for it to be available to the masses.
Ford have already brought out their version on the Mondeo I think.
As for the advert, even we were a bit when we saw it.

Debatable, I actually think its more faffy than a light which comes on and goes off again.
I'd hardly say a flashing orange light at the side of the car needed any further explanation.

It's been documented. The big difference comes at a distance when part of the vehicle is obscured. It stands out more than on/off and you can still tell which way the car's going. And the effect takes place in the same time a normal bulb reaches full strength so there's no negative side there.
Plus it looks cool.

I think it will be useful for when people put hazards on when there's a car behind them so it looks to everyone passing like they're indicating to pull out.
That's easily sorted though - don't park like a wanker and put your hazards on.

Was the patent withdrawn or are they just not going to defend it?
