Would kwik fit remove my back box for me?
I am trying to put a new one on my car but I can't get the old one off. It's going to need heat or a lot of hammering.
Would they consider not doing it if I am not actually getting them to fit a replacement?

Don't you have a local garage? Wouldn't let quick fit put air in a tyre for me bunch of monkeys.

Kwik fit is the closest. Don't want to go too far away from the house if i am driving with half an exhaust. Plus, with it being a bank holiday I imagine a lot of the local garages would be shut.

Why not just ring them up and ask then? Can't see it being a problem, I'd give em the new one ask tell them to chuck it on too. Saves rolling round on the floor

They are closed at the moment, just thought maybe a employee would be a member on here.
I have an assumption that as I am not buying a new one from them, they will charge quite a lot for the labour. I don't mind putting the new one on myself.

Kwik Fit are fucking shit.
Absolutely detest having to use them for my current/past Company cars.
Used many across the Country. Never really been a good experience.

Tried to sell us a bearing for a Corsa b for £75 and charge roughly same to fit.

Cut it off with a grinder.. Could buy a 5 inch grinder for £20 quid probably what they will charge you to cut it off for you and you get a grinder to keep too haha

I can is different to i am. You have a poor grasp at the English language, unsurprising for a pikey fuck.

Bored of you now, same old gypo pikey comments, clearly don't fall into that category what do ever, get some new material.
I can is also different to I cant, the sooner you realise this the better, maybe then you'll stop having such a problem with people what actually can, and spend less time in the Internet telling your make believe friends you can afford things that your really know you can't, Cumbrian shit talking pikey.

Anyway.......
Experience suggests Kwik Fit won't touch anything they haven't supplied so it seems unlikely they'll take your old one off.

This is what i would do and have done in the past when i replaced a back box on a Corsa - spent a few hours trying to get it off with hammers, ended up using a grinder which took all of a minute or two to get the box off.
Plus as mentioned, it's unlikely Kwik Fit will touch it unless they're supplying the parts.

You can get it off without grinding it off but honestly it's such a ballache having to chisel it then hammer all the way round to loosen it then chisel it again.
The steel crunches if you tighten the exhaust clamp up even the tiniest bit too tight and it's a bastard to get off.
Cut a slit into either side of the pipe and it will pretty much slide off. Don't cut too deep as u will damage the centre pipe

Kwik fit said they couldn't do it as I wasn't buying a new part from them and if they damaged the car they wouldn't be covered?
Got it done by a local garage just up the road from them though. Annoyingly, the exhaust seemingly slid off when the guy was working on it as when I drove to the garage it made enough heat to wiggle free. Bugger.
Garage only took £20 to fit it though.
