Got a cheap 5m cable from Sainsbury's of all places in Jan sales for about £6 and its decent enough. Need another one, white is preferred but not a deal breaker.
Anyone got any recommendations? Just needs to be decent enough to not fall apart like the expensive (ish) one I got from Homebase.
Don't want to spend millions.

I bought some from amazon. About £1 each. Probably 1.5m long. So cheap i bought about 3 and can't tell any difference when using my £55 lead the tv salesman talked me into.

My sainsburies one has that braided finish. Not bad actually.
Jim, I was impatient and couldn't be arsed to order online. Nipped to home base as it is near my work and it cost £13 for a 2M cable, I came back to my car and someone had reversed into it and fucked off...
The cable also was the worst quality I have ever bought and is coming apart at the connector... So total cost around £360 instead of just ordering a £2Amazon one
Fair bit of choice on Amazon, I'll have a look on eBay cheers Mark.

Maplin will probably be the cheapest actual shop, but will still be a fair bit more than online. Amazon or ebuyer etc

Found a load brand new in work the other day but think they're only short. What length do you need?

Really?! I've always found things cheaper for a high street store anyway, well cheaper than Currys which seems to be the alternative here

Depends what your buying I think. I've bought some of my electronics stuff from there really cheap then other items have been way over priced

Not taking the pee but what do you class as 'pretty high end'?
Saying that, £11 for 5m is pretty cheap and it looks reasonable so fair enough tbh.

Taken from the Home cinema thread:-
"Heres mine- ignore the stand! its a coffee table for now haha!
TV- Samsung UE55D8000 (Flagship Samsung model for 2011- Internet, 3D etc)
Amp- Pioneer VSX-921 7.1 with wireless/Airplay adaptor.
Floorstanders- 2x KEF IQ50
Surround speakers- KEF Eggs (Part of 2005.3)- we have 1 centre and 2 rears-not shown)
Sub- KEF 2005.3
Sky 1TB box
All connected with NEET HDMI and optical cables and using IXOS 2.6mm cabelling with Fiscal plugs, parted with a Belkin smart conserve extension cable. Got a skype camera for it as well but havint fitted it. Had 1 of them fancy touch screen remotes but sold it as its crap and have no use for it!"

Nice setup, but far from high end.
Nothing that requires better than the cheapest HDMI cables, certainly (then, nothing in the world does...).

If Munchie was talking about Kimber then you might have a point but it's 5 metres of cable for £11 which, tbf, is about the going rate

Yeah its not massive overpriced tbf so not the end of the world.
Still a fool for thinking you need a certain "quality" though

Only time its worth spending extra on the cable Imo is if its going to be continuously plugged and unplugged. In that case you want to make sure the connectors are solid enough but even with that many connections will still be fine.
'Gold' connections is always a good one too to try and get people spending more
