Last year the air display was epic, probably was this year too untill that happened, hats off for them for what they do, dangerous stuff.

My old work was on an airfield and them little private planes used to drop out the sky on a monthly basis there, fortunately only a few deaths not as many as there could of been lol.

I can't work out if he's pissed or just absolutely gutted in that video.

Atleast the guy went out doing what he loved.

I have to fly long haul atleast twice a month most months.
Don't feel any different, still one of the safest forms of travel.

I get on a plane once a year of that, so it's not a regular thing for me. I've drove to holidays for a few years and never once felt unsafe

Was reading about that virgin space thing. It exploded in the air and pilot woke up strapped to his seat and falling through the sky.

Managed to wake up. Get out of seat and parachute down. Found that pretty scary but cool.

Hats off to him for bring it down and not simply ejecting! Assuming he was actually conscious.

wouldn't surprise me if flight companies are starting to cut costs and find pilots etc that are technically qualified but got there certificate in some far off land and are actually a bit shit.

I have witnessed this exact phenomena with some foreign drs. Not a clue, but probably got the right bit of paper, and are cheap

Two private planes have crashed in the last week.. Why are we discussing commercial air-liners?

Becoming a commercial pilot is a very complex, expensive and life consuming process so even the most junior pilots are highly skilled.. the issue is the budget lines tend to end up employing the junior pilots and the premium air lines get the senior ones.

Its not like a Car driving test where it can be different in various countries, an international body (ICAO) controls the training.

It really isn't that simple.. Plus its not like flying a commercial air-line is a simple task that you can just 'blag' your way through! If someone didn't know what they were doing it would become apparently before they even managed to taxi up the run-way.

Yes really.

I'm not a fanny like most people seem to be,
Flew malaysia airlines 3 times last month, ideal had plenty of free seats because people are scared to fly with them,

It's life people die every day, could I care? not one bit.

Ps I work in the aerospace industry and the reports/stories/fuck ups you see that the public don't normally see would probably put even more people off flying.

I mentioned it purely because there have been several high profile commercial incidents in recent years also.
