I've thought that but they're cheap insurance and ideal for work and sport.

They're also plenty of them about for £1500.. Hard to turn my nose up at

I need a car that's basically a van so I can keep with my car insurance. Van insurance is ridiculous for me.

I've looked at these as the car version when I drive past and looks like they have a decent load bay so would be ideal really.

There's a couple of other van type cars I've looked at too but they're all similar

Had a hire one for half a day, couldn't wait to give it back, genuinely the worst vehicle I've driven. I drove it for about an hour in total and the noise was annoying me for 50 minutes of it. As a comparison I've had an S reg Escort van, 07 plate Combo C and and an R reg Peugeot Partner, all where a far nicer experience than the 09 plate Kangoo which was less than 2 years old at the time.

Right so that's the kangoo out the window.

Anyone suggest anything that's cheap on insurance?

The problem I have is im a self employed electrician, but I'm a sub contractor so I don't actually work for myself.

I know I can insure a van as a car and use my car no claims but the last company I rang up told me they wouldn't Insurte me for private use because I'm using it for business purposes (I'm not I'm using it to commute purely to one place 8/10 miles from my house)

Or suggestions for good company's for Private van insurance

I've considered that but it's too small. Gonna save it as a last resort.

I need something I can get in the back of and get changed in, even if it means being a bit hunched over, that sort of size.

I got a half decent quote for a 1.3cdti combo but I believe they have a dual mass flywheel and a clutch kit is £700...

If you want a good load space to insurability ratio then I know a few lads running Agilas for that very purpose.

Pre 2004 Vitos rusted like an old anchor.
Pre 2008 Vitos some can be bad, some appear to not be fully galvanized!
Post 2008 Vitos are fully galvanized.

I had 5 2010 plate Vito's at work, and they literally broke a minimum of once a week each after a couple of years, they were really cramped in the cab, the drivers dooor fell off each of them and the steering lock failed to disengage on them quite a few times to mention a few of the issues we had.

Hadn't even thought of the Agila. Insurance must be pretty cheap on those

And Kangoo's - site controller at one of my schools had one, 1.5dci one, used to do everything in it, school jobs, tip runs, moving stuff, then would pop the back seats in and take his kids camping in the summer

Did well over 100k and he used to have it every day, he loved it.
