Ok I'm toying with the idea of selling the Cupra and goin for something with a bit more room. The Leon fits the buggy in and other bits and bobs no bother but it's kinda wasted now as its a bit to hard core for a family car.
Ideally I'd go for something like a B7 RS4 Saloon/Avant (practical and quick) but the maintenance on them are just stupid so that's ruled them out. I like the look of the B8 S4 in either guise but they're just out my price range I think.
What else is out there that I might not have thought about??? The budget is firm as I've been told there's no way I'm going above it lol.
Bear in mind this is an everyday family car so it's needs decent level of comfort but also to have a bit of go when I want to press on. I had a go in my mates mapped 530d BMW but it just didn't float my boat plus the wife won't drive a car with rwd.
Just looking to see what others would have.

I honestly can't praise the B7 RS4 high enough with my limited vocabulary. Does all the mundane tasks to the supermarket etc wonderfully then transforms into a B-road thug when you poke it with a stick. If you do your research and buy one that has had all the common issues sorted i.e. DRC suspension failures, auxiliary radiators et al. then you should have only the consumable parts to pay for, brakes albeit rather expensive. They are hardly depreciating at the moment too so you can factor the residual value into the overall ownership costs in order to justify it to yourself.

Rs4 isnt that expensive to maintain really. Front brakes are daft prices given, but general servicing isnt that much. I think they may even fall into the fixed price servicing also

Rear discs are even more expensive. The brake price must be the single most off-putting thing about the B7. I don't consider servicing costs any worse than an equivalent marque from a different manufacturer.

That's not a for sale post you plum, that's to show the car. Not what engine is in it.

But it's still an example of a 2.0 tdi audi a4?

Yes, to show the black edition. Which is very different from a normal A4. However a different engine in that car wouldn't have anything else different.
