I'd like a car again, and I will be selling my t4. I will not be needing a daily driver, although it would ideally still need to fit a cycle into it/on it. Ideally I want an m5, although lately been tempted by the rs4 eastate, think it looks better than the saloon tbh. Whereas the m5 I'd want the saloon version.

I'd like a fast car again basically, comfort and toys. And able to fit my bike in/on

This will be happening next year, not in 8 minutes time on the Internet. I am still moving house/sorting house related stuff out before I change vehicle.

Please offer suggestions in a friendly manner below

Surely most hatch backs can fit a bike rack / a tow bar for a bike rack. Choose your car, fit your rack.

M5 is a good shout although big bills if something goes wrong. Smg problems could go into a couple of grand

No joke, a Prius can fit a full size mountain bike in without having to take the wheels or saddle off.

For proper suggestions though, VXR8? Rangerover Sport? Jag XFR?

I will barely be using a car next year so not really much point in have 2 vehicles. It's about 2 miles to work from my new house so will be biking it every day.

S3 isn't a bad idea, I have been looking at golf r but can't seem to find any for sale. All are 5 door and I would prefer a 3 door really in a small hatch back.

A bike will go in a Fiesta with both wheels off.

You can basically get any car. The size of the car and/or money you spank on a towbar will depend on your desire for faffing. Just don't go boot strap mounted rack or roof bars.

Performance estate A4/3-series size is what you want, as with all seats down you'll only need to remove the front wheel (easiest wheel).

cpike probably sit the dean down on its seat and bars upside down both wheels off in the back of an estate Audi I reckon. Doesn't exactly take more than a few seconds to fit the wheels back on.

Why not? Can get them boot liner rugs which are waterproof etc put one of them down then nothing goes elsewhere.

Unfortunately the boot liners don't stop all of the trim from getting fucked up by the bike bashing about, or accident crank strikes to the bumper ..

Get something with a tow bar and use a quick release rack, they are the nuts! When you get to where ever you want to cycle, remove the bike, throw the rack in the boot.

I agree with Davey. I gave the rear bumper a right smack with a pedal a couple of weeks ago and some interior trim is already marked from just a couple of journeys.

If I were in your situation, I'd probably keep the van. I had a Land Rover when I moved house last and was surprised how long after move in date I was still using it to move lumps around.
