For the cunts on here, yes it's cheaper to use a back street garage. I'm sure i will use this again owning 2 diesels and possibly a third.

do you know if it allows you to data monitor
soot content or pressure diffrence
also some cars require a oil change after force regeneration

Only going to extinguish the light which if the filter itself is clogged won't really help.
Re-gen might sort it but has it already been in once? In which case it will have had one and the fault has returned, doubt this is a plug-in fix.
The more I read about DPF the more I think its a ridiculous idea.

I've put through some Wynns cleaner which did help. Second tank, throw a wobble again.
From what i've read, on the mk3 Focus the DPF is maintenance free - i.e. you should not be required to add DPF fluid.
I'm looking to do a forced regen with this tool. I don't recall the car doing an Active or Passive regen at any point of my 35k ownership.

You can tell when the car does a regen, the alfa idles a bit higher and smokes under load.

More often than not there is something else playing up causing the dpf to get blocked up. You aren't meant to keep on doing a forced regen.

Giving the Alfa a boot full normally clears the DPF blocked light and sorts it out.
THe other thing I found helped was a 900 mile journey to Britanny at over 90mph

I used to force mine every few weeks when it started dying till one day I heard something rattling around in my exhaust...Think the innards had disintegrated and got all caught up. Sounded like the proverbial bag of spanners

Agreed, it's very possible there is another issue.
I'm on 49k and never done a forced regen in my ownership.

only any use on cars that have had the dpf removed and still get the warning, meaning they can turn the light off whenever they want.
If you still run a dpf and just keep turning the light off, you're on a one way trip to a disaster

Have to agree it doesn't look like a problem solved there. These dpfs can be a real pain in the ass. And by the looks of it need to be treated right otherwise it will cost a load of cash to get put right.

50 quid for a forced re-gen at a dealer. Includes a diagnostic check.
To get it to cycle, you need to go on quote a long journey as it's set to cycle after a certain amount of mileage.
A trip down to see doris in the next village probably won't achieve that.

Couple of things chaps. I deal with dpf's all the time in work. There a pain in the arse and there's many reason why.
A dpf won't regen if it's got too much soot in it. So you need something that will read the spot content first. Then decide a course of action.
The cleaners you run through your engine are worthless. Don't bother with them.
Regens can be done at anytime, doesn't need a long journey to do one. It depends on the driving conditions.
After a forced regen you will need to reset the dpf adaptives, or the car won't know rs been regened. This won't do that afaik.
Only reason they block up is to do with your driving. There pointless for driving short distances. They just spot up. Stop buying diesels.
