No word yet if we can have these in petrol or diesel yet but been given the choices of new company car today
personally iv fancied a VW Scirocco for ages but lets see what CS has to say about the options available.

been told they will be medium spec (easier to sell on after they are returned to the lease firm) but heard they will not be top spec obviously

old mini cooper D is going back in June after 4 years loyal service and a 2.0 Scirocco manual is taking my fancy at the mo

the new options are, in order of cheapest to most expensive tax contribution......what would you lot have
Polo 1.2 petrol
polo 1.2 Auto petrol
Golf 1.6 TDI Auto Match ED
Golf 2.0 Auto Match ED
Volvo V40R man
Volvo V40R Auto
Scirroco 2.0 Auto
Scirroco 2.0 Man
A class 1.5 Man /AutoAMG
Aclass 220 AMG Auto DCT

I'd go for the Volvo. Manual or Auto wouldn't be fussed.

Assuming its not your only car and simply a work slog, I'd be going for one of the cheaper options, possibly the 1.6 Golf

A220 AMG without a doubt.

Why you'd go for the 1.5 is beyond me.

hmm looking at it still want a Scirocco

never been a fan of Mercs, i wonder if i can be really cheeky at work and get a GTS or an RLine black edition

in either case, cant decide if i want DSG or manual, like my gears but at the same time, DSG do come with the cool steering wheel paddles

be aware of the BIK increases and your own financial exposure...a car you select today will cost you considerably more in 3/4 years time.

and 2019 and 2020. From memory, a car with 14% BIK today will be 24% in 2020

Work hard, get taxed to hell
Take a company car, you have to take something shit to avoid massive tax
Take a car allowance, let take an additional 40% here too

If you go 220 make sure you select the optional anal lube ready for the new 2017 VED.

I'd be going with the Scirocco Steve. Great looking motor, we had the 2.0 TDI Bluemotion Tech a couple of years ago (you might remember it?).

Ours was DSG and was such an easy drive - only issue was the box tried to be too clever, so if you shifted down before the corner using the paddles, it would see you weren't WOT and after a couple of seconds would change back up - normally just on the exit! However, I believe that's been fixed on later models, as it was simply a software issue.

Having said all this, I know you're looking to save for a house, so I'll throw in the sensible view of do some maths in a spreadsheet to work out the different costs, esp with the increase in BIK in coming years.

Yeh im defo going for the Scirocco, the A-Class just doesnt appeal to me at all

see thats what im worried about on the DSG, you may be right as it will be the facelifted 2016 model and may well have been sorted. Think i might just stick with a manual on the safe side, i like my gears, and its also cheaper on the tax awell by about £17, the Diesel Mini iv had has a 6 speed, not often am i on the motorway, even then i just stick in 6th...the torque does the rest

gonna really push for an RLine one if i can with a 184ps diesel engine.....

fuck it, ill send an email to my boss asking if a GTS is out of the question, probs get told to fuck off, but dont ask, dont get i suppose lol

My brother has a dsg Scirroco, think it's a 2.0t engine. It's lovely to drive with the steering wheel paddles in sport mode. I want that gearbox in my car!
