So basically, the few of you who met me years ago will remember me being pretty thin, I was about 13.5 stone which is where I should be for my height.
Anyway, over the last few years I've got fat, after getting married and basically losing interest in the way I looked
I've been working on it in the last month and have got down from 17st 8lb to 16st 11lb, so 11 pounds in the last month, just by changing my diet and cutting out sugary/fatty foods.
Now it seems to have stopped coming off, the last week I've lost nothing and I really don't want to end up putting it back on.
I've been running the last couple of weeks but that's not helped either.
Does anyone have any tips?

I think if we all bully you about it, that should help.

Calories in vs calories out is the main thing really. Eat at a deficit and you will lose weight.
Try a TDEE calculator like this http://www.iifym.com/tdee-calculator/

I'm down 5 and 1/2 stone over 18 months.
Most of thatbwas first year, first stone is always pretty easy to lose.
,Lucy out all sugar drinks, stop drinking calories and get your body moving. I drive a bus for a living and still managing to lose weight. It can be done, justbexercise. Last week I walked 18 miles one day. Headphones in and MOVE

I like talking diets
Calories in Vs Calories out, is the easiest way to think about it.
However, it's not as simple as that. It's how easy it is for, a fatty, to sustain a calorific deficit for their duration of dieting, to reach their goal.
To quickly answer, Robin. Your body might just need a quick jiggle of metabolism. Try intermediate fasting (IF), if you feel like it's just a stall in your current diet. Shouldn't need much more than a week, then get back to your eating regime.
Be sure to keep track of your what you're eating if you're really want to lose weight.
Strict portion control and focus

Exercising, although is great for overall health, I feel is too much for somebody with their focus on losing fat.
It can push somebody to over indulge when your energy levels are depleted.
I would look into what fuels your body, then when you feel comfortable and ready, smash the gym! Weight training is much superior in terms of fat burning compared with cardio. Energy expenditure vs time. Much more efficient to crank out heavy reps.

I'm living proof
Hence the reason why I'm allowed to call other fatties, fatties

Eating smaller meals more often works better than eating larger portions less often

My dad has lost over two stone following slimming world, pretty impressive as he's never bothered before but it properly works, it's just being clever with what you eat, not necessarily cutting out stuff you enjoy entirely
Speed foods etc, things that get your metabolism working faster

I never really saw a benefit from running, 5k three times a week didn't seem to shift anything after a few weeks.

did you eat properly too
bear in mind the body will hold on to fat for a number of weeks anyway regardless before it starts to shed it

Cardio isn't that great for losing weight, tbh.
I mean everyone should be exercising anyway for it's other benefits, but if you're after weight loss it's all about diet.
