Im putting a deposit down to buy a Corsa today at this car sales place near me. Thing is its an L reg and only done just over 40,000 miles and he said its genuine and he also as a cetificate to verify it is. He as a few MOT certificates too. I've looked around the car and its mint for the year and does look like its genuine but with me being such a paranoid bloke and thinking with it being an L reg and only doing over 40,000 miles im a bit cautious. Is there anywhere i can ring to confirm this is 100% genuine. Thing is i dont trust any car sales men, hes most probably telling the truth but you know what they are like.

I had a P-reg Corsa and it had only done just over 46000 miles. So it is possible that he could be telling the truth!

I think youre buggered there mate, just gotta trust em, you never know, It might have been owned by some old lady who only used it to go 3 miles down to the shops on thursdays

The colour is black mate, which is the colour i wanted and also as alloys, they are not brilliant but will do for the time being. Engine size is 1.2ltr which is also what i wanted because of convictions and its costing me 1,200 but hes giving £450 for my Fiesta and other garages i have been going to are only offereing me 100 quid because of its age. It comes with tax and MOT and 6 months warranty so i cant moan.

mines a n reg 1.4 sport that had 38k miles when i got it!
just check all the mots and service history to see what miles was done between them!

get the previous owners details and ask her what mileage was on it when she got rid. is she says 40k then at least you can be sure the garrage hasnt clocked it

Well i've put my deposit down and he showed me a certificate saying the milege is gen and it comes with 5 previous MOT certificates and the milege is correct. Looks like i was getting para Now i better start saving to mod it up!

in 1999 i bought a H-reg nova with 37,000 miles. this was genuine. it had a full servive history. You can normally tell if its geniune or not, by the overal condition

I was going to say walk away straight away, they never made an L reg black 1.2!!
For the record, my nan sold her 95/N Corsa in about 1997 with 3860 miles on it. It ran like a bag of spanners though, its not healthy to have so *little* mileage on!

You could have had the car HPI'd and the last owner might have written the milleage on the logbook, so the hpi would have come with a milleage check. If the garage say's the milleage is genuine and it's not, you could get them shut down, so i doubt it will have been clocked if he said its genuine.
