postal order - or cash in a envelope u get from post office - forgot the name now - someoen will say - can put cash in it - and its guarenteed next day delivery - 'special delivery' its called, sure he has to sign for it to - so ya will know hes got it - better bet than a postal order - costs bout 4 quid for the envelope from post office, that includes delivery

Paypal is a con anyway, will cost you 4% more and they rip both partys off. Do what the others say above I'm sure he wontr mind.

Make sure you tell the seller so they at least know the situation. So far as alternative payment methods, I always go for bank transfers as I can do this online and if they bank with Barclays as I do it, it goes in instantly. Failing that take the cash to a branch of their bank and it'll also credit there and then.
Some people are funny about giving out their bank details though and if you've no cheque book, postal order is the only way to go. Bit daft in with all this technology available but some people are like that.

if he gets arsey i'm sure u can get someone else to send a cheque for u. if u can't get some 1 off here to send it for u.

Yep they have to sign for it, i send thousands of pounds through special delivery. Standard special delivery insures it for upto £250 which costs £3.75, for a few pence more you can insure it for upto £1000, and again for upto £2500.
Guranteed next day delivery and you get a reference number & can track it.
