hi guys, i wanna know wat is the best petrol to use in my corsa gsi in terms of getting the most miles per gallon???

ive been using optimax from shell untill now, coz i think it burns away quicker than a super unleaded petrol and costs more to i think???

im quite a relaxed driver but i do boot it somtimes and every so often red line it!

cheers guys

95ron is probably best for £/mile.
You'll get better mpg out of super unleaded or optimax but I doubt the extra economy will be worth the extra cost of the fuel.

i can put around £30 of super unleaded from esso in mine and get around 350miles out of it (i do have a bit of a heavy foot )

i wouldnt put supermarket petrol in my car if i was broke down outside a supermarket garage wit no petrol.

Have you tried running with std unleaded and the super stuff to see if it makes much difference to the fuel consumption ? Don't reckon it'll do a lot as the ECU just adjusts to what you put in with modern cars. Used to be the case that you could get better performance with higher octane fuel but doubt it now. As for the type of fuel, when supermarkets started selling it first and were much cheaper then there were concerns about the quality but they're all about the same price now. There are also only a limited number of places they can source the fuel from. Safeway here get fuel in BP tankers!

i get about 110-120 out of £10 so in theory i could get about 330-360 out of £30.
