I picked up my alloys yesterday. Two have been refurbished (won't tell you the cost!) as they had scratches and flatspots on the back of them.

They're on Toyo Proxes Tyres. For those who don't know, there 16" Irmscher Soft Stars. The cars lowered 30mm on a full Eibach Pro-Kit.

Any comments are welcome. I hope to colour-code the car at some point. And no, I won't be lowering it any more

Theres no rubbing, arch catching or anything on them. Thats with me and my dad in the front, and 4 13" steelies in the boot and back! I'm yet to test is woth more passengers. the wheels are ET49mm.

Hope you like them!

One for the ladies lol:

I've only got two problems with them. Theres no noticable loss of acceleratin at all, but theres a small 'wobble' on the brake pedal when braking at more than 30mph (maybe one of the un-refurbished wheels has a flatspot?) but its got a major service next weekend so hopefully they'll tell me if theres anything wrong). Its only felt on the pedal foot, not the accelerator. Its only when over 30mph - I don't know if its paranoia or the harder ride or what.

The second thing is that its now an incredibly hard ride! I'm gonna get white-finger driving it! Every bump, dent or bit of gravel is now felt on the alloys more than the suspension alone. This is gonna take some getting used to!

They're 195/45/16 Toyo Proxes. Do you need tracking done when alloys are put on? I had it done after my suspension.

Cheers Steve. Another problem is I've had them on 24hrs now, been out in it 3 times in total, and already theres brake dust on the spokes - gonna be a nightmare for me as I'm not used to cleaning my car.

BTW The relief that they fitted was huge!

Smart mate. Need to purchase a digicam and get sum pics of my (minging 5door up). I like my cars slammed. Im looking for wheels at the minute after selling the old 17" phantoms. I seriousley CANOT decide. On my 5door im lowered 70mm rear and 90mm front. I think 16's et 15-49 will go on without catching as ive trimmed, knocked arches and removed all the bolts. But then i think why not go 8 x 14's and do it euro, as of yet ive never seen a corsa on these wheels on the road, and never hear of them on here! If i did do that i'd have to raise the rear to 40mm (defying the point of a slam) and Mr police man and MOT man wont like 2" of rubber poking out the standard arches! Single wiper and Kamei Grill coming soon and then some more permanant bodywork will be done... But yeah, looking smart Geeza. Im only in Notts so I may see you rolling round one of these days?

should have no probs with catching, mates got a sport lowered 60mm on 16'''speedlines(49mmoffset) and even with a full car thers no arch contact, wheels look spot on by the way

I don't know what to do next - wanted an Air Dam front for years, but maybe light smoke tints, exhaust etc.

Im going for the subtle look, nothing too ott. I want an Air Dam front, GSI skirts and an exahust, maybe Irmscher rear too, and colour coding. that'll be about it.

I'm not gonne make the car somethig it's not, so want to try and keep everything well proportioned.

I would leave standard bumpers. Looks really clean as it is. Go for a smooth look, de handle, loose the washer jets, indicators, bad boy bonnet, change mirrors. Looks very tidy though so far!

Phil:

Smoothed washer jets (unpractical), removed bump strips, de-handles (unpractical, MOT failure) and no side repeater (MOT failure, dangerous).

I quite like it. I can't colour code it well so haven't tried!

I'd like Steiny Mirrors if they were cheaper!

again the wheels arent my cup o tea but the motor looks smart mate.
eye catching looks well looked after.

if u dont like brake dust why dont u upgrade yor brakes nxt time u need to? u have abit of brake showin now coz of alloy sun new grooved drilled brakes wud luk cool.

red dot
green stuff

both do brake pads and discs that produce hardly any brake dust IMO

they do wicked drilled, grooved, drilled and grooved discs.

sounds like tracking.go to halfords to get trackin done, do it cheap and use lasers.

Cheers Laim, was thinking about brakes and have heard greenstuff save on the dust.

Heres another photoshop:

tints and bad-boy. Can't do colour coding or Air Cam or GSI Skirts so any photoshoppers welcome! I use PSP for ease.

More comments welcome people

Very tidy car mate! The wheels keep the styling to a sensible limit. Any other wheels may have looked silly IMO.

Also definately get the tracking done. I fitted my 16's and drove for only a day without getting the tracking sorted and it was a nightmare. Couldnt believe the difference when the tracking was sorted.
