As some of you know i had an accident in my car in June, both left wheels were pushed under the car, it was all mechanical damage.
I got my Car repaired at a local Vauxhall dealership, and my Dad paid for the repair as we didn't want to affect insurance, and we also get discount off parts.
Since the car has been repaired it has been back once because the mechanic who repaired it failed to spot the brake disk was badly bent, which meant as soon as i picked the car up i had brake juddering. Ever since then the car has been find until today..............
I'm driving through my local industrial estate, not driving like a nutter at all, nice and sensible. I overtook a Nova Saloon (as you do) and i went into a roundabout, as i hit the roundabout my car was making terrible noises from the back left wheel, i drove up the road at 20MPH and the noise it was making was terrible. I rang my Dad up and he came to have a look at it seemed the niose was coming from the damper, so i drove it slowly do the dealership that repaired my car after its accident.
It turns out the problem was that the bolt had come out of the bottom of the damper It was making this noise because then i was going over bumps the damper wasn't connected to the chassis and was hitting the point where it should be bolted in. The mechanic at the garage told me that driving it was very dodgy as the spring could have popped out at any time, and the damper could have also popped out, he also admitted the reason it has done this is because it was not put back together properly when it was repaired.
I am absaloutley fuming as i have just driven to Newquay and back (about 700 miles) with 4 people in my car and my boot full of luggage, if the bolt had of come out on the motorway at 80Mph i would most probably be dead now.
I would like to know what i should do? Contact Vauxhall customer care?
Thanks guys

yep, see what you can get out of em, i work at vw, and if someone fcuks up the customer gets free stuff...doesnt happen much tho....you may be able to get some money back because of inconvenience (well the inconvenience of drivin a car that was dangerous to drive) etc, and maybe some free services....

This happened to me with Peugeot, I couldn't prove it was them. However they basically admitted it to you so I'd complain and say your take action if they dont pay some compensation etc

sounds pretty nasty
bet they didnt use new nyloc nuts on the rear damper bolts either
i've never heard of bending a brake disc before!
they are usually pretty good though when u start complaining
Network Q or head office are usually better to speak to than a dealers as they just fob you off.
in the end for my problems i had to get Network Q to ring the dealers and sort them out!!

You have to be recieving a pention to get a discount, the rules are you have to be getting paid a wage, or a pention to be entitled to cheap parts

The partners website is www.vauxhallpartners.co.uk, the helpline number is 0870 444 5678 . You need a user/password to get on, but its a standard one that they issue to everyone. I don't have it with me at the moment. My grandfather worked at Ellesmere Port and everyone in the family is a partner. It used to be limited to 4 named people but they've got a better database now , so the list can be as long as you like. Eligibility is currently 'extended' to grandchildren and other distant relatives. You are allowed discount on 6 cars a year. Check it out if you think you're entitled.

Thanks for that ELZ I'll give that number a try. My dad gets a vauxhall pension, so does the wifes so I guess we should be ok. Any discount on dealer prices has got to be a bonus

You also get a nice deal on new cars, 0% finance, free insurance, better trade in prices sometimes too.
