I've been asked by a few people if I can do leds for the sidelights, well today I've been having a play and can now make them in almost any colour you want.
In the pic below, the left lamp is the blue led, the right one is a blue bulb..

The next pic is with the dipped beam on, you can see there is just a trace of blue, more of a white light...

I'll make a few diferent colours up and post pics if anyone is interested.

Valley, can do green no probs, I'll make some up and take a pic tonight. I shape them to fit straight in where the original bulb was so yes, its a straight swap.

Chris, legal issues? I'm sure I don't know what you mean.

I think white might be a lot brighter. As you can see in the pic, the blue led looks a lot brighter than the blue bulb. I've made up a few more colours, I'll try them a bit later when it gets dark.

Wicked ill have a pair then if possible in blue is it just a case of undoing the screws that hold the light on and the bulbs being behind yea?

You don't need to undo any screws, the holder for the sidelight just twists and pops out, pull out the original bulb, plug in the led.
If you have power steering, the fluid reservoir bottle is in the way on the nearside light and can be a bit fiddly to get at, if you don't have power steering it'll take you less than a minute to do both sides.

No, you don't touch the rubber cover on the back of the headlight.
Take a look at the back of the light, you will see a rubber boot that the wires go into. Just below this rubber is a holder for the sidelight, just give it a slight twist and it will come out, you'll see the bulb in the end. The bulb is a capless push fit, just pull it straight out.
The led is also a push fit, simply push it in where you took the bulb from.
Switch the sidelights on to make sure they light up, leds are polarity sensitive and will only work one way round, if it don't work, pull it out and put it in the other way round. Job done.

Wicked oh yer a question i was gunna ask, ive got white lockwood dials, when i get ur blue ones will they actually shine a perfect blue, or be an off colour?

The reason i ask is that atm i take it the bulbs there at the moment are white, but come up a light orangey colour...

I had blue lockwood dials and the numbers were white, they lit up perfectly.
I think silver ones have orange numbers that look odd with blue backlights, what colour are your numbers on the white dials, are hey orange?

No sorry. I'm getting some chromed original Vauxhall pins shortly, look better than the Irmscher and half the price. I took my Irmscher pins out to fit the chrome ones.
