..............rubbing.

i have 17" lowerd 40mm and there is a good bit of rubbing,one side of car seems to be lower could this be th prob

what is the best way to stop this.

will bump stops help?
hardend shocks? (i have standerd on now)
old shocks back on ?(but then it looks like a 4X4 lol)
koni adjust ables (what do they do?)how much for them ?
any other ideas?

take the arch bolts out and stick inner arches to car etc

Agreed....take bolts out....bond arches on.........but b4 u bond them back on pull the arches out a little first.....but only o small amount!!

i did take the bolts out and i just got my archs and skirts moulded in i got car back today so what can i do

my bro put springs on il ask him to look at them,

will hardend shocks or koni adjustables stop them rubbing,
stop them compressing so much

nope, it wont stop them rubbing.
what corsa you got b or c?
my bros got a b and it slices chunks from the tyres! and it happens more on the passengers side than drivers, dunno why though?
hes getting the arches trimmed to stop all rubbing.

dunno mate, he has the same wheel and tyre size as you and it just rubs all the time. hes going to get some of the inner arch trimmed off and bolt removed then bond the arches back on. there's slight scrubbing from the front and thats going to be grinding off.

Mine does exactly the same more on the passenger side propper shredded the wall of the tyre

iv got 17's on my corsa and iv just bought a 40mm suspension kit.

wheels are 45 offset and 205/40 tyres

iv been told i wont have rubbing problems but many people seem to have problems. what do u think? will it be ok?

i just put lowering spring on and have rubbin all the time,i took the plastic arches off angle grinded the metal a bet it out,then stuck the plastic bits back on.it was ok.
but i just got the archs moulded in to the body and the rubbin is back

ok im the expert on this. lowered 60mm on 17's on a 5 door (smaller rear archs) of no rubbing even with a full car. this is what i did:

1. removed teh pklastic archs and cut the metal up about an inch.
2. glue the plastic archs back on dont use the bolts.

that stopped most of it but i found that the next problem was the tyres hitting the inner archs. the only way i could see to stop this was to limit the rear suspention travel. so to do this i placed in longer bumpstops. now this stopped all teh rubbing but the ride is shit to be honest. ive now got 16's and im gonna make the bumpstops shorter so the ride will be better.

it happens cos the p/sid hub sticks out more it happens on all vaux,s
just trim the rear arch and get rid of the bolts

is that what bumb tops do stop it from going up as far,will hardend shocks do the same.
ill prob do that what bump stops did u get and from where

ps.
can u set the hight and hardness on koni adjustables will that stop it going up so high

1. bump stops are powerflex ones code BS004 got mine from demon tweeks, you will need to shorten them, think mine are lik 6cm long now.

2. as for the koni adjustables which i also have lol. the fronts are on car dampiong adjustable, the reara are off car damping adjustable. they are not height adjustable.

what does that mean on car damping and off car dampining

it meens you can adjsut the damping rate of the front shocks whilst they are on the car, you have to take the rear ones off to adfjust them.

Who's the expert on this eh KRIS ?? Me too now on 16" RAVIA's with 40 profiles and coilovers, 1000x better AND lower... If anyone wants a set of custom Powerflex bumpstops to fit Corsa B rear standard dampers with -40mm springs and 17's let me know, you wont scrubb with these... £10 + a touch of p&p
