Wanna know which is better.
I dont just mean which is fastest - but that would be good to know aswell.
Also which is more reliable and which is easier to service as i will be doing most services myself (i.e cambelt on 1.2 is alot easier than other cars ive seen)
Thanx ppl

If you're on about a C SRI against a C SXI it would be a bit of a silly question.

No, i said 1.4 sri, not 1.8
Im confused as to why some sri's are advertised as 16v and some 8v even tho they r both 1.4, i imagine its something to do with engines being ecotec or not

not much difference, apart from the performance, if you're not bothered about speed get a sxi.
The 1.4 sri is a 16v.
They both have the same interior and look roughly the same

Right,
Corsa B
1.2 16v SXi, bout 70bhp odd
1.4 8v SRi - 82bhp
1.4 16v SRi/Sport - 90bhp
Corsa C
1.2 16v - 75bhp
1.4 16v - 90bhp
1.2 16v is a good little engine for a 1.2, and it does sit at 90-100 with ease, even though it takes quite a while to get there.
8v SRi unit is a good little lump, most of the power is available at low rpm, where-as the Corsa B 16v engine needs to be revved pretty hard.
Corsa C wise, the 1.2 16v is a good little engine, but the 1.4 will always be better. More power, more torque, and even the new 1.4 16v engines can do around 48mpg on average!!!

I've got a L reg Corsa SRi i would suggest gettin the SRi because it's a wee bit faster than the SXi but if you get an 8 valve make sure you start it up and listen for a Knocking camshaft and dont buy one over a 100,000 miles i done that and i've been stung i now have to find a new engine cos my camshaft is knackered! check th4e oil and deffinately ask what grade they put in if it's not 15w40 and it's more like 20w50 walk away there's a chance they are covering up a nasty rattle with thicker oil possibly even gearbox oil!

Nope.. dont get a 1.4 SRI Corsa B.. They'r p1ss!.. I used to woop ass with my 1.2 16v SXI Corsa B and saying that, I used to woop 1.2 16v SXI Corsa C's!!
And the wee beast used to stick with 1.4 Sports up to 105-110 then the sports would creep away!

grave robbing here lol. my corsa b sxi only ever does 110 flat out so i think a sport will still be going fairly well upto 120. so i cant see you keeping with one upto that speed unless you tuned it up a bit
